Description
Antique Edo Period Oribe Tea Bowl from the Motoya Nobu kiln — in signed box. Interior box inscription by a curator at the Tokugawa Museum in Nagoya as a late Edo period (1800-1868) piece. Includes silk shifuku with fabric covered corner pads for storage. Measuring 6”X 4 1/2” in diameter and 3” in height.A true treasure prized by Japanese military commanders and lords. Tea bowls like this were awarded to successful warriors much like medals are awarded in the west.
