    Description

Antique Edo Period Oribe Tea Bowl from the Motoya Nobu kiln — in signed box. Interior box inscription by a curator at the Tokugawa Museum in Nagoya as a late Edo period (1800-1868) piece. Includes silk shifuku with fabric covered corner pads for storage.  Measuring 6”X 4 1/2” in diameter and 3” in height.
A true treasure prized by Japanese military commanders and lords. Tea bowls like this were awarded to successful warriors much like medals are awarded in the west.
