Seigan Yamane - Studio Pottery -Kuro-yu Hagi Chawan - 2004-New and Unused in Box

Description

This is an absolutely beautiful Kuro-yu (black body) Hagi chawan by the highly respected Japanese ceramic artist Seigan Yamane.
If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Yamane's work a quick internet search will fill you in on his career.  Mr. Yamane has produced beautiful
Hagi pottery since around 1990.  He is a karate master, but decided to become a potter in the late 1980's.  He is best know for his
beautiful "Seigan Blue" ware.
This gorgeous chawan is expertly made and has incredible glazework.  The trailing glaze on the black body is quite beautiful.  It has
Mr. Yamane's stamp on the bottom and comes in a signed wooden box with a cloth and personal description.  This chawan has
never been used and is in new, unused condition.
The chawan is 3.3"T X 4.9"T.  The box is 5"T X 6"W X 6"D.
